Sometimes people ask us if the Zero Euro notes are genuine, or how they can check if the notes they have purchased are genuine.
The Zero Euro notes have the same look and feel as Euro money banknotes, and they also have the same security features as the Euro bills. Some of the features can be easily spotted, and some may require the help of a magnifying glass.
The metal strip and the hologram, for example, can be easily seen on the notes, as well as the tactile marks (for people with an impaired vision). Also the watermark is easy to see by holding the note against a light.
You may need a magnifying glass to properly see the microprint that runs across the notes. The text of the microprint says "Zero Euro Souvenir". Please see the image below that zooms in on a note, with the microprint highlighted:
In addition to the above security features, there is another feature that reveals undoubtedly that a Zero Euro note is genuine, which is the invisible, UV sensitive flueorescent ink. This means these are features that are not visible to the eye, unless you look at the note in UV light. Then, the invisible ink becomes flueorescent and very bright, and you will be able to clearly see these features.

The UV light can not only be used to see if the notes are genuine, but it gives also a great effect when presenting the notes to others. You can compare your Zero Euro notes with the normal Euro money banknotes, and you will find they share the same security features.
We have now a UV flashlight for Zero Euro note collectors in stock that you can use for testing, as well as showing the notes to others. Please just click on this link, and it will bring you right to the product page of the UV flashlight.
