This is the Stanserhorn Cabrio Swiss 0 Souvenir Banknote. It was made for the historic cableway service that takes people up to mount Stanserhorn.

The Stanserhorn experience in central Switzerland combines nostalgia and innovation, starting with a historic funicular railway dating from 1893, which takes visitors from Stans to the Kälti midpoint aboard charming wooden carriages—still in operation today.

From Kälti, passengers transfer to the CabriO, the world’s first double‑deck aerial cable car featuring an open‑air upper deck. Inaugurated in 2012 and built by Garaventa, it carries up to 60 people (30 on the sun deck) and travels up to nearly 1,850 m above sea level, climbing 2.32 km at 8 m/s in about 6 to 7 minutes.

Riding on side-mounted support cables with stabilisers for smooth motion, passengers enjoy a “cabriolet feeling”—wind in the hair, 360° views of 100 km of the Alps and 10 Swiss lakes, unobstructed by glass or cables overhead.

At the summit (~1,898 m), visitors can explore a 30-minute circular summit walk, meet rangers pointing out alpine flora, fauna, and eagles, and observe marmots in their enclosure.

The mountaintop features the Rondorama revolving restaurant, offering regional dishes (like Älplermagronen served in an Edelweiss pot) with panoramic views.

Operating season runs mid‑April to mid‑November, with nighttime rides on select days until 23:00, accessible via train and a short walk from Stans station.
